2025-10-11 Mortal Kombat 2021 review

Kano is Australian. VERY Australian. And that's the only good thing about this movie.

The characters have flimsy motivations, mediocre acting, terrible writing, and boring action. The sets are vaguely interesting, but only one (a frozen boxing ring) will stick in my mind for more than the time it takes to write this review.

Every talking scene is pure exposition (except Kano). Every action scene is Marvel-style "punch them a few times and then throw them further away." Every drama scene is the most bland "I am human 1 and have love for human 2 (and possibly human 3)."

Frankly, if anyone makes a supercut of just Kano's lines, you should watch that. But it's not worth slogging through the rest of this trash. 2/7
